# What You'll Need:

→ Fresh Produce

01 - 1 cup fresh mint leaves, loosely packed
02 - 3 large limes, juiced (approximately 1/2 cup lime juice)
03 - 1/2 lime, thinly sliced, for garnish (optional)

→ Sweetener

04 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar or agave syrup

→ Liquids

05 - 4 cups cold water

# Directions:

01 - Combine mint leaves, lime juice, sugar, and 2 cups of cold water in a blender. Blend until the mint is finely chopped and sugar is fully dissolved.
02 - Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher to separate and remove the mint solids.
03 - Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water and ice cubes to the pitcher. Stir thoroughly to combine.
04 - Taste the beverage and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more sugar or agave syrup.
05 - Pour into glasses and garnish with lime slices and extra mint leaves if preferred. Serve chilled.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It takes less than ten minutes and uses ingredients you probably already have sitting around.
  • The mint and lime wake up your taste buds in a way that feels clean and bright, not syrupy.
  • You can make a big pitcher in the morning and sip it all day without any guilt.
02 -
  • Do not skip the straining step or you will end up with chewy mint bits floating in your drink, which ruins the smooth refreshing feel.
  • Blend the mint with some liquid first or it will just spin around the blades without breaking down properly.
  • Taste before serving because limes vary wildly in acidity and you might need to balance it with a little more sugar or water.
03 -
  • Always taste your limes before juicing because some are much more sour than others, and that will affect how much sugar you need.
  • Blend the mint just enough to release the oils but not so long that it turns bitter and dark.
  • Chill your pitcher in the freezer for ten minutes before mixing if you want the coldest possible drink without diluting it with extra ice.
