02 - Add flour, sugar, salt, orange zest, vanilla extract, eggs, and softened butter to the bowl; mix until a soft dough forms.
03 - Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
04 - Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
05 - Punch down the dough and shape it into a large ring on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
06 - Cover loosely and allow the dough to rise for an additional 30 to 40 minutes.
07 - Set oven to 350°F (180°C) to preheat.
08 - Whisk egg yolk with milk and brush evenly over the risen dough.
